-
Measure the interior dimensions of the window frame edge–to-edge and cut the security film accordingly.
-
Remove the gasket all around making sure to use rubber blocks or pieces of the same gasket to keep the glass pane in place.
-
Perform the window film installation.
-
Clean the film and the frame with isopropyl alcohol (90% concentration) using lint free rags making sure that the film is adhering to the glass where the tape is going to be applied and both frame and film are dry. Surfaces must be free from any foreign material.
-
Measure edge to edge interior dimensions of the frame both vertical and horizontal and cut the GSS™ profile to match the measurement. Remember, “measure twice, cut once”.
-
Starting with the vertical frame side, bend the GSS™ flanges upwards and push the gasket in place for the full length (remove blocks after gasket installation). pull back a small section of the profile and remove the tape release liner along the frame side and place into position. Continue to pull out small sections (6”-9”long) of the release liner and tape to the frame. Do not touch the bare tape with fingers, oily residue will damage the tape.
-
Using a roller or the applicator (installation tool) apply constant and adequate pressure to the anchoring forcing out air bubbles and ensuring the best possible adhesion between the frame surface and the anchoring and ensure that the gasket is locked into the frame. Do not use excessive force
-
Pull back the GSS™ section along the window film side and remove a small section of the release liner and place into position. Repeat step 7 above between the film surface and the GSS™. Continue the process until the installation is complete. Again make sure that you Do not touch the bare tape with fingers, oily residue will damage the tape.
-
Repeat steps 6-8 for the opposite side.
-
Cut to length and shape to fit the horizontal frame side and fit in the same manner as above, paying close attention to the cut and fit around the previously installed section.
Notes:
If difficulty is encountered installing the gasket, flip back the flanges and hold the GSS™ profile at 45 degree angle then fit it in place and slide it to the corner and continue to press it in place for the full length.
If necessary black silicone can be applied to tidy corners.

-
Perform a daylight application of window film and allow to cure for at least 24 hours. Longer curing duration is preferable. Make sure that the edges and gasket are dry.
-
Ensure all surfaces that the tape will be adhered to are clean from any foreign materials, dry and grease-free.
-
Tape will not adhere to: oily or dusty surfaces, silicon or rubber contamination and porous materials.
-
Clean the film and the frame with isopropyl alcohol (90% concentration) using fresh lint free rags.
-
Make a guide with a small section of the Pentagon Elite® Anchoring System profile, or an adjustable 90° square angle can be used instead.
-
Using the guide draw an accurate pencil guideline on the frame. The distance from the edge of the gasket to the line should be the same width of the elite leg to be installed on the frame (Approx. 9/16”).
-
Measure and cut sections of the Elite® profile to required length. Remember,” measure twice, cut once”.
-
Starting with the vertical frame side, pull back a small section of the release liner (1”-2” long) and place in position, level with the marked pencil line. Continue to pull out small sections (6”-9”long) of the release liner and tape to the frame in alignment with the pencil line. Make sure that you Do not touch the bare tape with fingers, oily residue will damage the tape.
-
Using the applicator (installation tool) apply constant and adequate pressure to the anchoring forcing out air bubbles and ensuring the best possible adhesion between the frame surface and the elite anchoring.
-
Pull back the elite section next to the glass and remove a small section of release liner and tape in place. Repeat step 8 above between the film surface and the elite. Continue the process until the installation is complete.
-
Repeat steps 6-8 for the opposite side.
-
Cut to length and shape to fit the horizontal frame side and fit in the same manner as above, paying close attention to the cut and fit around the previously installed section.
Note: If necessary black or white silicone can be applied to tidy corners.

Prior to installation, make sure that you have the following necessary tools:
-
General-purpose cleaner, Rubbing Alcohol, 70 or 90 %, lint free rag, applicator and Roller, Cutter, measuring tape and a cutting knife.
-
Inspect the frame and the film for foreign material. Tape will not attach to silicone, rubber, masking tape, paint or any oily substance. Make sure the frame is clean and dry. If necessary, use a general purpose cleaner to clean the frame (3M general purpose adhesive cleaner 08984 is recommended.)
-
Measure the interior dimensions of the frame.
-
Use clean lint free rag to clean the frame and the film with rubbing alcohli.
-
Normally, vertical sides are installed first, top to bottom.
-
Inspect the door for installed accessories such as a handle, aluminum bars or a door closer. These accessories may need to be removed prior to installation and then reinstalled.
-
Cut 3-inch piece of the attachment to be used as a guide.
-
Lay the guide on the top left vertical side of the door and draw a line marking the outer edge, then repeat the same for the top horizontal side marking the outer edge. Extend the two (2) lines and mark the point of intersection.
-
Repeat this procedure for the remaining three (3) corners of the door; verify that the points of intersection are on a 45-degree line drawn from the inner intersection point of the snap rings.
-
Measure the length between the two intersecting points along the vertical side of the door. This is the length of the Z-Lok segment to be installed. Repeat the measurement on the remaining three (3) sides of the door.
You are now ready to install the attachment.
-
Cut the Z-Lok attachment to the measured dimensions.
-
On the vertical side, starting at the top left corner cut the wide leg of the Z-Lok segment at 45 degrees. Make sure not to cut the flexible membrane. Now, cut the narrow leg and the flexible membrane straight to the heel of the previous 45-degree cut. Then cut the narrow leg at 45 degrees.
-
Proceed to install the frame side of the attachment first. Using a knife, peel off 2 inches of the tape liner and press it into place. The top must be aligned with the top intersecting point and the bottom must be aligned with the lower intersecting point. Utilize the built in guide to ensure straight-line alignment. Do not touch the tape with your fingers.
-
Continue to peel off 3 to 6 inches at a time until the entire side is attached. Using the applicator tool, press the top 2 inches from the bottom upward.
-
Starting at the center, using the roller or the applicator, apply consistent and adequate pressure in one direction to establish full contact between the tape and the frame. Repeat in the opposite direction.
Making sure that the attachment is in alignment and the bottom intersection point is aligned with the bottom tip of the attachment. Make sure that the interior edge of the tape is pressed in.
-
Next wrap the flexible membrane over the snap ring then pull back the edge of the attachment At the top, on the film side and peel the liner off the top 2 inches with a knife, make sure the tape clears the top and side gaskets if exist and press into place. Avoid stretching the attachment.
-
Repeat the process until the attachment is fully installed.
***Make sure to establish full contact between the tape, frame and film.
-
Repeat the process on the opposite vertical side.
-
Repeat the same installation procedure on the horizontal sides. Make sure to utilize the built in guide to ensure proper alignment and installation.
-
If necessary, black silicone can be applied to tidy the corners.
***NEVER TRY TO REMOVE THE ATTACHMENT ONCE IT IS INSTALLED.
